NRP's Shining Star: Erika Scott
Training Project Manager Assistant
Erika has been a member of the NRP Training Solutions family since December. She supports all training projects nationally and internationally for our company.
Erika recently graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelors of Science in Communication and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre adding to her Associates of Arts and Sciences earned at Prince George’s Community College.
Erika has always been a creative and driven individual. During her time at Prince George’s Community College she was extremely active in the theatre. Her many stage credits include Sabine (say-bean) in Madeleine George’s Most Massive Woman Wins and Lady in Blue in Ntozake (in-toe-socky) Shange’s (sean-gay) For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf under the direction of award winning director Shirley Jo Finney and Ntozake Shange herself. She held the position of President of the Student Governance Board for an unprecedented 2 straight years. During that time she put on many events most notably running a campaign to ensure that 735 Prince George’s County residents were registered to vote for President Barack Obama’s first term in office. While at the University of Miami she focused on her studies. As part of her production class she and her classmates were required to shoot a short 30 minuet documentary. She and her class mates took on the challenge of documenting the strong Jewish presence in the Miami area, telling the stories of some of the last survivors of the Holocaust in a documentary entitled “Through Their Eyes.” “Through Their Eyes” went on to be judged at the National level and was awarded the title Best Video Documentary by the National Broadcasting Society. Despite being extremely focused Erika became an avid and loyal Hurricanes fan and went to almost every home football and basketball game. You will often hear her wholeheartedly supporting her Alma Mater with statements like “Its great to be a Miami Hurricane” or “I bleed orange and green!”
